Privacy Policy

1. Scope

This policy applies to the Aura Bitcoin Wallet application, this website, and support communications sent to support@aurawallet.org.

2. No Aura account

Aura does not require an account, username, or email address to create or use a wallet. Aura does not hold your bitcoin and does not receive your recovery phrase or private keys.

3. On-device wallet data

Recovery phrases, passphrases, private keys, addresses, labels, and transaction information required for wallet operation are processed by the app. Wallet records are encrypted before local persistence, and the application’s device key is protected by the system keychain.

4. Blockchain network requests

Aura connects to Electrum servers using wallet scripthashes to retrieve blockchain information and broadcast signed transactions. The Electrum operator can observe requests from your connection. If you configure a custom server, that server’s privacy practices apply. A direct-address fallback to mempool.space is disabled by default and only operates if you enable it.

5. Website data

Our hosting provider may process ordinary server logs such as IP address, browser type, requested pages, timestamps, and security events to operate and protect this website. We do not use this website to request wallet secrets.

6. Support communications

If you email support, we receive the address and information you choose to send. Do not include a recovery phrase, private key, extended private key, password, or other secret. Support information is used to respond, troubleshoot, and protect the service.

7. Third-party links

The app and website may link to Apple, GitHub, block explorers, Electrum servers, or other third parties. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies.

8. Retention and security

Support messages and server logs are retained only as reasonably needed for support, security, legal compliance, and service operation. No system is risk-free, and users should never transmit wallet secrets.

9. Your choices

You may use the wallet without an Aura account, choose an Electrum server, leave the optional mempool fallback disabled, and avoid contacting support. You may request deletion of eligible support communications by emailing us; legal or security retention requirements may apply.
