Terms of Use

These terms explain the role of Aura software and the responsibilities that remain with the user.

Terms of use

1. Acceptance

By downloading, accessing, or using Aura Bitcoin Wallet, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the software.

2. Software, not custody

Aura provides self-custody wallet software. Aura does not take possession of bitcoin, operate a user account, hold recovery credentials, execute transactions on your behalf, or provide a recovery service.

3. Your responsibilities

You are responsible for securing your device, reviewing addresses and transaction details, maintaining an accurate offline backup, protecting recovery phrases and private keys, complying with applicable law, and understanding network fees and irreversible transactions.

4. No financial advice

Aura does not provide investment, tax, legal, or financial advice. Information in the app, documentation, and website is for software and educational purposes.

5. Bitcoin network and third parties

Bitcoin transactions depend on a decentralized network and third-party infrastructure such as Electrum servers, explorers, app stores, and network providers. Aura does not control their availability, confirmation times, fees, policies, or actions.

6. Open-source license

The source code is made available under the MIT License. The license governs copying, modification, and distribution of the code. These terms govern use of Aura services, website, and official distribution channels.

7. Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the software is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of uninterrupted operation, fitness for a particular purpose, or freedom from defects. Security depends on user behavior, device integrity, dependencies, and network conditions.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Aura and its contributors are not liable for loss of keys, lost or misdirected funds, transaction fees, device compromise, third-party failures, or indirect or consequential losses arising from use of the software.

9. Changes

We may update the software or these terms. The date above identifies the current terms. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance where permitted by law.
